What We Teach

Our Elders seek to teach the Bible faithfully. In an effort to do so, they hold to and teach under the framework of the primary doctrines recovered during the Protestant Reformation of the 16th Century. These doctrines are expressed in five Latin slogans and are as follows:

Sola Scriptura
The Bible alone is the final authority for faith and practice

Solus Christus
Christ alone is the basis for our acceptance by God.

Sola Gratia
The grace of God alone is the way God saves sinners, and not by the works of the law or by human merit or effort.

Sola Fide
Faith alone is the means by which sinners receive or appropriate the grace of God in Christ.

Soli Deo Gloria
To God alone be the glory for saving sinners and for everything else in this life and the life to come.

In addition, all of our Elders affirm the 1689 Second London Baptist Confession of Faith with some exception to Chapter 22.8 regarding Religious Worship and the Lord’s Day. While we believe the Sabbath should be kept holy and regarded with reverence, we do not hold to a strict sabbatarian view.
